Christiana was born in 1970. She became a widow in 2004, and is a mother of 3: Lewis, Samuel and Rose.
Christiana went to school for 6 years. Before she started producing jewellery for Pernille Bülow she produced and sold beads and cakes. She still does - when she has time - next to the jewellery production.
She lives with her children in an extended family house, a large centre courtyard house with a lot of approx. 15 m2 rooms, of which each family shares one room. The cooking is done outdoors in the common courtyard over a small fireplace.
Many of Christina's husband relatives live here too. One of them is Agnes (04), who also works for us. Christiana was Agnes' uncle's wife, and in Ghana this makes them sisters. They always sit and work together.
The most important thing for Christiana is that her children go to school and get a good education. Once this is financed, she dreams of having her own house. It is a dream most of the women have, but unfortunately it is a luxury dream that only comes true for very few.
